Alliteration is all well and good until you find yourself with something like "a proximate perfunctory conversation" and you realize it just sounds like you chewed up the thesaurus and spat it out on the screen.

I'm on the sixth fucking rewrite and still the fucker is NOT COMING OUT RIGHT.
